What is mindfulness?

Mindfulness is a vibrant state that emerges when we are receptive, engaged and fully aware (somatically, emotionally and mentally). This state  generates a sense of vividness, aliveness, connection and coherence (between what we are perceiving and what we are actually experiencing) that gives access to clarity and to a reliable knowing that is beyond just cognition.

What is the value of mindfulness?

When our organism has all of its perceptual channels open (somatic, emotional and cognitive) and is deeply attuned to what is going on, it feels safe! We can relax. There is no longer a need to divert precious energy and attention towards being vigilant and defending ourselves.

This excess energy and attention accrues as more awareness!!!!! This allows us to discern more precisely. We have access to perspectives and a clarity that might not have been available before. Insights and solutions spontaneously emerge!

Whether it be in our professional or personal life, operating from this state of clarity allows us to be incredibly effective. It gives us the ability to accurately assess what is actually happening,  focus on what matters most, and to know how to move into skillful action.

Mindfulness also lets us see which aspects of our lives are outside of integrity with our values, so that we can course correct.  Awareness is the key ingredient to living conscientiously and to creating a life that serves both our well being and that of the collective.

How can I have more mindful moments in my life?

By slowing down, getting curious and making full contact with what is happening. By stepping out of the conceptual and dropping into the experiential. By becoming intimate with the experiences that make up your life.

How can I cultivate mindfulness and learn more?

You already carry the inherent capacity to see, feel and know. Growing the capacity for mindfulness is just about making more time and space in your busy life to remember and to reawaken these facets of your awareness. This can be done through meditation practice!

Cultivating mindfulness, is not only a gift to ourselves, but a gift to the world. Imagine what our collective reality would be like if there was more consciousness, connection, and clarity. What would we be able to co-create together?
